I finally found a desktop recorder that plays nice. :la: So I made a quick rundown of my basic processes in digital painting so I could play with it a little. Feel free to watch it if you're curious!

Also, that is my youtube account (duh XD) and I'll probably be posting a lot more on it now that I found a good desktop recorder, so if you guys are interested then please subscribe!

  • 02/25/12--19:48: New Page Design

  • So I went through today and re-did my page based on this beautiful journal design. I'm really happy with how it looks. If you guys could tell me how it looks on your different browsers I would really appreciate it!
Also, I've been having some computer problems lately, which is why I haven't been around much. I have to use my computer very sparingly due to the fact that the fan in it has died. I got a new cooling pad today though, which is working great so far. Hopefully it will continue to do so until I can either get the fan fixed or get my new computer for college.

  • 02/28/12--22:07: New Religion
  • :dead: This thing has take close to two months to finish. But I'm rather pleased with it none the less. I tried to be less of a perfectionist with this one. XD

This painting features the band Black Veil Brides which I got into late last year. They're a really fun group of guys and I really like their music. The picture itself is based overall on their newest full album "Set the world on fire" and takes a lot of influences from the song "New Religion" specifically.

In the beginning, I had the brilliant idea of drawing the BVB army in the background. I don't regret it, but dear god it took forever... :slamhead: I also have a few characters hidden in the background, but they're hard to find now that I've shaded. You're welcome to download the full size and try though. There's batman, the Joker, Marilyn Monroe and Darth Maul. I'm in there to, but I doubt hardly any of you can find me. (Hint though, my hair is blue and black)

Overall I'm really happy with this, I think it's probably the most complex piece I've ever done.

I'd love whatever feedback you guys can throw at me on this!

  • 03/06/12--12:35: Free Use Map Outline
  • So I recently needed a highly detailed outline of the world for an art project and I couldn't find a single one that was as detailed as I wanted it, or, if it was, it was way to tiny. I eventually gave up and made my own using a regular map.

I figured that there might be other people our there who need access to a detailed and good sized outline of the Earth for whatever reason, so I decided I'd upload the outline for anyone to use. You may use this in any manner, commercial or otherwise and you don't need to credit me (I mean, it's the Earth, I can't exactly copyright it...XD). I would like a link though if you guys use it, just so I can see!

Download for the .psd file which has the outline on a separate layer so that you can use it however you want to.

    Have fun!

  • 03/11/12--21:18: A roundup of suggestions

  • What is this madness?
So, :devkatara-alchemist: what is this madness you have in your journal? Well, it has to do with the site updates posted over on :devhq:. There's so many great suggestions posted in the comments of those journals, but they quickly get pushed down and lost among all the other feedback. I think these suggestions need to and deserve to be seen. So I decided to go through all the comments posted up to this point on the most recent site update and organize them into a nice, neat format.

Be sure to watch :devhq: to see the future site updates! And take the time to at least glance through the suggestions given in the comments

  • 03/12/12--19:32: My Day Just Got Made

  • So I just got a note (and an e-mail :XD:) from :devHeidi: asking if I wanted to apply for a job in the Product Marketing department of deviantART! Sadly, I can't take the job since I can't move to California right now because of college, but just to have :devHeidi: note me and ask me to consider applying made my day.

I've been a member of this site for five years now (That makes me feel old...XD ) and I love this community so much. Yes, it has its flaws, just like any place real or on the internet, but there's so many amazing things that make it worth it. I've grown so much because of this site, as an artist and as a person. I know I wouldn'

So I go to check the mail today, and I find a package from DA. I didn't order anything, but DA has done a good job of surprising me over the past week in wonderful ways. Open it up, and what's inside? A wonderful little present from my wishlist, the dA artist apron. No clue what-so-ever who sent it though! I'd love it if the person who did told me, I'd like to say thanks!

Whoever it was, I really appreciate it. The random little gift made my day.

  • 03/16/12--20:58: Wishlist Suggestion
  • So today I opened my mail to find that some unknown person had bought me something off my wishlist! It made me very happy, but it also made me remember I had a wishlist. :giggle: So I went on to update it, and I found it to be severely lacking in features.

So here we go, my ideas:
:bulletblack: A sidebar where you can have your preferences including devwear sizes and print sizes listed. The pencil Icon on this would allow you to edit, and would only be visible upon hovering. I just put it there to show that it would be there.

:bulletblack: Being able to remove deviations from the wishlist easily using a system similar to the one used to move deviations to folders in your gallery. This would allow you to easily remove things, including things from the devwear shop that can't be removed once they're out of stock for whatever reason.

:bulletblack: Being able to go straight to the deviation the print is of using a system similar to the one used to move deviations to folders in your gallery. As it is now, if you click the icon you are taken to the print rather then the deviation.

:bulletblack: Being able to mark which prints you want the most using a system similar to the one used to move deviations to folders in your gallery. When you mark a print as most wanted, a little yellow badge will appear in the top right corner (or something along these lines).

    Feedback is wonderful!
