I think I sketched this two or three years ago, painted it a year ago, and I'll probably redo it at some point because I hate the background. But! I do love how my characters Dustin and Vivian turned out in this.

I'm working on a short story comic about the story behind my Amethyst Corpses illustration, and I couldn't decide what style to do it in so I did some quick concepts of the priestess in different styles. I decided to go with the semi-realistic one over the more comicy styles. I'm going to try and traditionally publish this comic, so I won't be uploading it here, but I may share some other sketches and concept bits.

This background is part of a much bigger project that I've started, which will involve 15 total hyper-detailed background paintings. Some of them will also be pulling double duty as backgrounds in another project. I had a ton of fun with this one coming up with stuff to put in all the jars.
You can also get a coloring page version of this on Gumroad for $3 or right here for 300points! You'll get an 8.5x11inch version AND an 11x17inch version.

This illustration is part of my Pretty Lady project. As an illustrator/author, I have a tendency to get too bogged down in the developmental stages of illustrations, especially the backstory of the characters, even if I'm only going to draw them once. So this year I set myself the challenge to draw 15 ladies without doing ANY developmental work. Just winging it and having fun. There will be 15 illustrations of the women just standing on a blank background, and 15 illustrations of them in a scene. Once the project is complete I'll be releasing a collected art book and a coloring book of all 30 illustrations!

You know those half asleep half awake thoughts? Yeah, that's where this came from. The concept is dream dogs that come find you in your nightmares and help you find your way back to better dreams.
Also, because people loved these so much on my other social media sites, I'm running a kickstarter for acrylic charms of them! There's a bunch of other breeds as stretch goals as well. It runs until October 15th 2019! The charms will be two inches on black acrylic.

Dustin and Vivian just blew something up. Probably a train.
I drew this piece five or six years ago, and I have since repainted it four or five times, but I’ve never quite been happy with it. I always loved loved loved the poses, though, as I think it captures the two of them incredibly well. It was almost always the background that tripped me up, which is why I completely scrapped the background each time I redid the piece. I’m much happier with this version, and I think I might be able to finally let this illustration rest. Maybe.

One of the things I miss the most about old dA was going through my inbox and being able to see extra large thumbnails of deviations and comment on them from right within my inbox. I didn't have to open every single deviation to drop a quick comment, which made me comment a lot more due to the lack of time it took. I've really been missing that in the new dA. I'd like to see it come back somehow, and I figure if we can get a profile hover card, why not a quick comment hover card? A nice, simple way to comment right from whatever browsing area you're in.
And, because it will probably come up: yeah, maybe this reduces view counts a little. But, ya know, I'd rather have comments than on-page-views. Just because they didn't navigate to it's actual page doesn't mean someone didn't look at the art.

Anyways, he's got a boyfriend now! I'm probably going to do some comics with them in the future, maybe rewrite the story about how Zip got bit. They're a lot of fun to play with. Eric is just a big golden retriever (but, like, one with an old soul) and Zip is a hyperactive pile of nonsense.

Been drowning in my personal projects lately, so I took a little fanart break! So excited for the special hardcover edition coming out this fall.
I wanted to do something kind of symbolic of their two different worlds and them reaching over the divide, with Henry intentionally leaning a bit more towards Alex.
Please know that the column next to Henry took more effort than just about anything else in this illustration.
Also, ngl, drawing fanart for an author repped at the same agency as me FEELS WEIRD. IDK why. But it does. Never actually talked to Casey but I talk to her agent all the time and I’ve known that agent for YEARS. I’m with a different agent, tho. Just feels a step closer than I usually get with fanart, I suppose?
