Yes, yes, I'm talking about this again. It has come up again a couple times recently when I was talking to various staff members on their journals or mine, so I figured I'd put together a better breakdown of why exactly I don't like this new system, because it's a bit much for a single comment.
Alright, so, in this new system the tags don't use spaces. I've yet to hear a decent reason for this, and that bugs me, because the lack of spaces just doesn't work. Plenty of sites do have tags with spaces (tumblr and youtube, to name just a couple) so it is totally possible, however I do understand that the framework of some sites can make it incred

Hey guys, so I've got a very important request for all of my watchers. Please, please go see the new movie "City of Bones" this weekend. It is an awesome movie based off of awesome books and is one of the best book-to-movie adaptions I have ever seen.
Please don't pay attention to the stuck up male critics who are scared off by a female led young adult novel adaption. If you end up not liking it, that's fine, but don't let what the critics say dissuade you from giving it a shot. Go in and form your own opinion!

So, you guys may or may not have heard that Colorado is experiencing some crazy flooding right now. So far only three people are confirmed dead, but we've still got two or three more days of rain coming. Some of the pictures coming out of this flood so far are pretty shocking.

Alright, so, as you guys have probably noticed I haven't been around as much lately. The main reason for this is that I've been having a very difficult year emotionally. The biggest reason for this is my mother. There's really no need to go into detail with it, but we have a very unhealthy relationship due to her inability to show me any respect or trust. Today we had another fight over something that was admittedly very minor, but it was the final straw for me. She is not a healthy person for me to be in any sort of relationship with and despite all my attempts to try and fix things, things haven't gotten better.

I don't like 'em. However, I don't hate them either, but I think the only way I could get used to them is if a few changes are made.
They need to be faded so they are less distracting. Right now they're so dark your eye is instantly drawn to them instead of the name. (Yes, you can install scripts to fix this but this only effects how YOU see it, not how everyone else on deviantART who doesn't have the script sees it.)
They need to be smaller. This is basically the same as the issue above. The new symbols are huge and distracting.

AKA I dragged my sister over to deviantART since she doesn't have an account, has never had one, and thus is about as "new" as you can get. I wanted to get her thoughts on the new symbols because of that. (This is in fact my general method for testing anything that deviantART claims to be doing for the sake of new users. My sister puts up with it pretty well. She might think I'm a bit nuts though.) I linked her a chain of comments and told her to tell me what she thought of the symbols next to names.

Hey guys, I have opened a society6 store to help with finances. I know I don't make much off of society6, but every dollar helps and it's passive income which is incredibly helpful. If you could take a look, and at least share some stuff from it I would greatly appreciate it! Okay, I cave. Anyone got any tricks for motivation? Because I can't motivate myself for my Art History Class for shit. It's mostly because the entire first half of the semester was royally screwed up and thus I lost total faith in the class and the teacher. (There's a really long, rambling story to go with this, but essentially the teacher wasn't teaching at all. No feedback was given, no interaction, nothing. This has been fixed by administration now, but it's to little to late for various reasons.)

First off, thanks for all the well wishes now that my term as a volunteer is up. It was a great year, I just wish I could've done more! (Join the volunteer team during your first year of college, Katara. There's no chances of that crashing and burning, Katara. Ha.)
I have had a REALLY long year, and not in a good way. I've had a falling out with my mother to the point we barely speak, my grandfather is dying, the other has already passed away, and my college has screwed me ten ways to Sunday. You know, the usual stuff.
